Global Mapper v25.0

Point cloud import from Pix4d not Nidar

The point cloud comes into GM with a 'ground level' view/perspective looking towards a horizon.
Other data such as the ortho and dsm appear blank in the viewer but show as loaded in the control panel.
The map is a 1km narrow stretch of beach, with about 15 gcps. GDA94 MGA56 AHD
Any ideas?
Thanks

I just sent a colleague the file and it opened fine. I'm using 19.1 while he is on 18.2

    zero-ing in on the issue.
the las/PC file properties have dropped some of the coordinates.
Placing it 10000km NW of the other Pix4d generated data.
    How do I fix this???

  • In pix4d, what happens when you click "View from top" in the raycloud editor (see screenshot)?

If you don't have a NADIR view of your point cloud when doing this in Pix4d, it's possible that you may have reversed your coordinate order when importing ground control points.  If you didn't use ground control points, check that your orientation constraint is defined correctly.  If you didn't use an orientation constraint OR ground control points, apply an orientation constraint to your Z axis and then reoptimize.

If the point cloud IS showing up correctly (NADIR) in Pix4d but not in Global mapper...I could take some wild guesses, but not with much confidence.
