v15.2 Print Problem
macsmith

on printing maps with 15.2, the header over-writes my company logo in the top left and the footer over-writes the scale in the bottom left.
I'm using windows XP SP2, 32 bit.
I'm right in the middle of producing formal documentation (never should have upgraded!). Anyway to revert to 15.1?
TIA

There was a problem with some things like logos (i.e. fixed screen layers) in the original v15.2.0. Can you get the latest build and see if it has the same problem?
I have placed new builds with the latest changes at the links below:
32-bit: http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/downloads/global-mapper/global_mapper15.zip
64-bit: http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/downloads/global-mapper/global_mapper15_64bit.zip
Simply download the .zip file for the build that you are using and extract over your existing installation files. The likely locations to extract to are as follows:
32-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\GlobalMapper15
64-bit: C:\Program Files\GlobalMapper15_64bit

thanks for the reply.
It's actually worse now because my white background has turned pink! It also didn't fix the original problem.
Deeper in the hole now... -
You can re-install v15.1.8 from the links below to get back running the old version:
32-bit: http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/downloads/global-mapper/global_mapper_setup_v1518.exe
64-bit: http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/downloads/global-mapper/global_mapper_setup_v1518_64bit.exe
I'm not able to reproduce any problems in the latest version like you are describing though. Can you save a workspace with your setup and also include your company logo so I can try and reproduce it? Also what print options are you using (i.e. margins, header, footer, white background, etc.)?
If you export to PDF (File->Export->Export PDF) do you get the same issues in the PDF as on the printout?
Thanks,
Mike

this morning the pink background has gone. The machine was switched off overnight, so it was effectively rebooted.
Attached are 4 images, the print options applet showing the selected options, a scaled print from version 1.51, a scaled print from version 1.52 and my logo.
Let me know if you would still like a workspace file. I'm now going to try revverting to the old version...
Thanks
Ian

Yes if you can send a .gmw file (either post here or email to geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com) that would help me to determine your exact settings. I tried with what it looked like in terms of placing the fixed screen layer and neither the logo nor the scale were cropped by the header/footer as in your screenshot, so there must be some other setting I need to have to reproduce the problem.
Thanks,
Mike

Ian,
Even with that it still works fine for me. Perhaps there is some issue with a particular print driver on XP 32-bit or something. Does the v15.1.8 install fix it for you? If so I can see if I can find some difference between v15.1.8 and v15.2 that may have changed something on just some systems. Nothing like that comes to mind though.
Thanks,
Mike

I did try installing the older version but the newer one still runs up. I'll uninstall and reinstall tomorrow. I have a Canon ix4000, if that helps.
I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
Thanks

getting confused now! I uninstalled and re-installed using the 15.1.8 exe file. After the installation an error box appeared, see bellow. Running up the newly installed version still brings up version 2.2 (according to the About box.
Every time I run it, windows asks me if I'm really sure I want to run it, which is also strange. Maps are still being cropped.
Thanks
Ian
error2753.jpg -
Ian,
If you go to 'C:\Program Files\GlobalMapper15' does that folder exist and if so does it have anything left in it? I would suggest deleting that folder manually, then trying the v15.1.8 32-bit installer again.
There is also an article describing how to fix the Internal Error 2753 at How to Fix Internal Error 2753 | eHow as it seems sometimes on XP a DLL needed for the install system isn't registered automatically. If you still have the error after manually cleaning the folder try the fix in that article.
Thanks,
Mike

ok, fixed the 2753 error (don't know why it started now after many years), deleted the GM directory and installed 15.1.8. The map prints are now working without chopping off the logo and scale.
Many thanks

did the problem I encountered with printing get fixed? It would be nice to catchup to the latest version.
Ian -
Ian,
I was never able to reproduce any issues. We did just update to v15.2.4, so you might get that from Global Mapper Downloads and see if it still has the issue on your machine. If so you can uninstall and go back to v15.1.8, although I would still like to find the source of this issue. It's just difficult if the same data works on our machine.
Thanks,
Mike

It looks like you somewhere got the wrong DLL installed as part of going back and forth between versions. Can you update the files from the latest daily build manually?
I have placed new builds with the latest changes at the links below:
