ASRP format
Hi,
I'm having trouble opening some ASRP files (these open successfully using another tool).
When selecting an IMG frame files, GM displays "The overlay type could not be determined from the file you selected. Please select the type of overlay you wish to view".
When ADRG/ASRP is selected, GM displays "Unable to load overlay XXX.IMG. No images found in ADRG/ASRP file. OverlayFactory.cpp - 6554. Version 14.2.0 (32 bit). Build Time: 14 May 2013 23:37:05. Use Ctrl+V to Paste Error".
Are both ASRP 1.1 and 1.2 supported?

Both versions should be supported. Can you provide one of the files that won't open and I'll take a look?
Thanks,

I can't send the files unfortunately. Instead I exported some downloaded ECRG sample data to ASRP 1.1 from GM.
When I tried to open the IMG file directly, I exactly had the same problem. It was fine when opening the THF file.
I've emailed a zip file to geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com. -
I haven't seen the .zip file sent to geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com, perhaps it was too large? However I just realized that you can't directly load ASRP frame files anyway, you have to load them through the TRANSH01.THF file. That will manage loading and unloading the individual .IMG files as needed, similar to how an a.toc works, except each .IMG will be a separate layer once loaded.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, I had assumed individual .IMG files could be loaded as per other formats. I suspect my TRANSH01.THF file doesn't comply with the spec. When I try to open it with 14.2.0, I get a read access error and it crashes. Is there any useful log file that would indicate any more information?

I have located some other ASRP 1.1 maps and these load correctly from the TRANSH01.THF file. Is there any useful debug/log file that would indicate any more information why it is failing to load the original files? All of them load fine using ERDAS Imagine.
The standard is hard to follow to be able to inspect the differences between the files. -
I didn't see the original message for some reason, but can you supply the TRANSH01.THF file that crashes so I can take a look? It definitely shouldn't be crashing even if it is invalid for some reason.
Thanks,
Mike

With the 14.2 released version, attempting to open my original TRANSH01.THF file caused "Unable to open ADRG/ASRP file TRANSH01.THF XXXXXX01.IMG was not found. ADRGOverlay.cpp - 729. Version 14.2.0 (32-bit) Build Time May 20 2013 19:46:17. Use Ctrl+V to Paste Error", for each frame file.
If I repeated after copying one of the frame files from XXXXXX.IMG to XXXXXX01.IMG, it also displayed "Unknown error while rendering overlays, you should probably save and quit. Read access violation at data address 0x0F43A000, program address 0x00894dc5. Version 14.2.0 (32-bit) Build Time May 20 2013 19:46:17. Use Ctrl+V to Paste Error".
Upon clicking ok it displayed "Unknown error, application will exit. Unable to map view of file XXXXXX01.IMG of size 4257693696 at offset 62455808. The parameter is incorrect. MemoryMappedFile.cpp - 452. Version 14.2.0 (32-bit) Build Time May 20 2013 19:46:17. Use Ctrl+V to Paste Error".
Upon clicking ok it crashed. This only occurred with the original TRANSH01.THF file that GM was unable to open.
I can't be sure if the file is valid or not, they all load fine in ERDAS Imagine but not recognised by GDALInfo. I've sent the TRANSH01.THF files to geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com. -
I'm not getting the files you are emailing to geohelp@bluemarblegeo.com. They must be getting filtered out either leaving you or coming into our inbox. Can you try my personal email at mchildsCO76@gmail.com?

Sent to both and checked it's not stuck in our firewall.
-
I did receive them at my personal address, so our work email must be filtering them out. I''ll take a look and see what is happening.
Thanks,
