Drag to Rotate - show current angle

A small suggestion for the drag to rotate option: would it be possible to show the real-time angle? So when I left-click and drag, there is a box/line somewhere that tells me what angle of rotated to?

Not sure how useful or needed that is but seemed like it might be of potential value.

I'll admit it isn't something I'd need. If I know the specific angle I'm targeting, I wouldn't use a "freehand" rotate! But this is the Suggestion Box forum...

Ok I'll add that to the todo, although as you noted if you knew that you wouldn't need the freehand tool :)

    Hi Mike,

I often use the rotate freehand tool to allign our concept ships alongside a virtual wharf. To be do this acurately I zoom in considerably and then would like to rotate the ship's design 'freehand' until it is parelel to the hwarf. When zoomed in this difficult to do as the slightest movement of the mouse has a too big effect on the design to rotate. Is it possible to create a 'gear ratio' (mouse to rotation on screen) that can be preselected in the rotation/scale dialogue menu so a greater mouse movement actually creates a lesser rotation on the (zoomed in) screen?

    Regards

    Frans,

If you drag the mouse far away from the rotation center you should be able to reduce the angle that each pixel of mouse movement generates so you can more finely tune it.

    Thanks,
