    Alberto,

Try using the File-Open All Files in Directory Tree, or perhaps even better create a map catalog from the files using File->Create New Map Catalog.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

Hi Mike, first of all thank you very much for your answer, i had already tried it that way:

1 Open All Files in Directory Tree
it doesnt work, its aways prompting me to open one by one (select overlay type)

    2 Create New Map Catalog
same here, please take a look at this video HD ive just prepared:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQNL257Ebms

    There must be a way,
all softwares can open several files sharing the same configuration... try to imagine opening 450 tiles one by one:-)
I really appreciate your support here,
    regards,
    Alberto

    Alberto,

I have updated the loading so that the MSI Planet files should be automatically recognized regardless of filename and also if you do load multiple files at once, the first selected unknown type is remembered so you don't have to keep picking it. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper13.zip with the latest changes for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v13.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v13 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper13_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike,
A BIG thank you (thank you, thank you!), i have to say you have already saved a lot of my time when im working with certain type of projects -I deal with QC- Opening hundreds of files is not something i liked very much, so thanks!!!.
    Just a quick last question...
there's still a recurrent question everytime i load any of the files: Which is the hemisphere?
Don't you think it makes more sense all files are in the same hemisphere?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFZCRmzKJlQ

Now the only issue is clicking several times NO or YES accordingly (which is better than quite a lot of hundreds of coordinated clicks) So once i stated YES or NO keeping this answer...and including this modification would make it perfect!.

    Thanks again!!!!!!!

    Alberto,

I have updated the importer so that if your current view projection is UTM with the same zone that the MSI Planet files have, the north or south from the current UTM projection is assumed rather than prompting you. So long as your MSI Planet files don't span a bunch of zones I believe this will take care of your issue.

    Thanks,

    Mike,
thank you very much again for your support,
    This works perfectly,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OFsr22muzk
i have calculated im saving more than 50 times what it used to take comparing 100 tiles...
For instance, opening 100 tiles took 20 minutes (absolutely focused on what I was doing) and now it takes 20 seconds (no need to focus at all, just drop files in).

    Again, thank you very much,
    Alberto

    Hi Mike,
i wonder if now that i have updated your previous version of global mapper 13 (with the new feature of opening planet files at a time)... can i upgrade directly to GM 14? (ive already requested the upgrade to my colleagues). Meaning, will this new version include that new feature of opening planet files right away?

thank you very much for your answer,
    regards,
    Alberto
