What version of Global Mapper are you using? Do other data sources (try perhaps the World Imagery source) have the same issue? It is likely just a problem either with the server itself (that one is unreliable) or with your connection to the server.
Thanks,

I am using V13 ...no..other sources can load immediately after selecting...

Can you first get the v13.2 release (just released yesterday) and see if that helps? You can get it from the links below:
32-bit: http://www.globalmapper.com/downloads/global_mapper_setup.exe
64-bit: http://www.globalmapper.com/downloads/global_mapper_setup_64bit.exe
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,

I can't open http://asterweb.jpl.nasa.gov/gdem.asp too

Are there any filters on your internet? That web site opens right up for me. I do know that users in China have trouble accessing many of the online US government sources due to the China national firewall. I'm not sure about other restricted places, maybe Iran? Are you in any of those locations?
Thanks,

I have the same problem with the others. I'm using GM v.13 on my laptop, and since 2-3 days I can not connect and download imagery from NASA. I should specific that this problem appears when I'm connected at my job network and at home. When I'm using the network from University, the problem disappears. Where should I look? Thank you.

Are all sources blocked when on your job network or just some? If it is all, you might have to have your IT person allow Global Mapper access through port 80 (the web access port). If it's just some there could be some firewall setting preventing access to some sites. Which sources in particular are failing?
Thanks,
Mike

Only Global Mapper. My windows and antivirus firewall are both disabled. Even I found that the antivirus was monitoring the port 80 and I've unchecked it.

I don't mean is only Global Mapper blocked, I mean whether or not all of the online sources in Global Mapper are blocked? For example can you get to World Imagery, SRTM, or OpenStreetMaps?
Thanks,
Mike

ohh, sorry. Everything works fine, except SRTM.
-
If you go to the Terrain group on the online source dialog there should now be 2 SRTM sources, one listed as backup which is what used to be the primary SRTM. If you select that one does it work? For the one that fails are you getting any type of error message?
Thanks,
Mike

Oh wow I was just debugging this and was able to reproduce the issue with lockups loading the new SRTM and the 1/3rd arc second NED source (both hosted on globalmapper.com). I was able to fix these so now the lockups should no longer occur. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper14.zip with the latest changes for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v14.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v14 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper14_64bit.zip .
If you are on v13, I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper13.zip with the latest changes for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v13.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v13 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper13_64bit.zip .
Thanks,
Mike

Thank you Mike for your help, but the problem persists. I'm having the same issue with the connectivity, but I found that I could download the needed information from USGS's section Earth Explorer. Thank you once again!!
