No point count when selecting points

Feature count not working when selecting point features for editing in ver 14.
If an area feature and points are in the feature selection then I get a feature count.

I'm using v14.1.7 and seeing the selected feature count in the status bar when just points are selected in the Digtizer Tool. What format of file do you have loaded?
