CREATE_COVERAGE_AREAS extra vertex

I have a set of points which, when I use the script command to EDIT_VECTOR CREATE_COVERAGE_AREAS=YES to create a coverage area, adds an extra vertex to the polygon created. You can see it in the southwest corner of this capture. It causes an extra line which makes for a rather interesting shape.

Can you provide the file that generates this shape so we can replicate the extra vertex?
Thanks,
