I do not know if this is the right place to post my question.
I apologize but I am a newbie...

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

I'm going mad seraching for the way to change the default settings in saving "distance/elevation" and "XYZ file" in order to change from the point count (the default value should be something near 1000 points) to the point spacing between sample points along the path configuration (I want POINT_SPACING=5.0).

I know to change such configuration options using scripts is possible, but I'm unable to write a valid script, moreover my aim is very simple:
I simply want to set the spacing between sample points (I want 5 meters instead of point count equal to 1000) and use the right-click menu feature "generate path profile along line" for dxf abjects which I have loaded into the map, without running any script.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do the above said modification to default values?

Thank you very much

    Actually you are in luck. We have added just the functionality that you are after since the v9.00 release. Now there is an Options menu item on the Path Profile dialog that allows you to "Specify Sample Count/Spacing Distance". I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper9.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v9.xx installation folder to give it a try.

    Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
