bicubic maps are much slower!

GM14: I loaded some png files into a map catalog and activate bicubic. I save all in a workspace. Opening this workspace takes up to 30 seconds. The same workspace saved without bicubic mode opens in 5 seconds.

The same wirh export to ecw. It takes up to five times longer.

In GM 12 these problems do not occur.

Is it the load of the workspace or the display of the images that is taking long? I wouldn't expect the workspace load to take any longer at all, but the display could take longer since bicubic takes longer to render. Is the map catalog at a layer that the images are actually displayed or just the outlines?
