Daily modis image script

Here is another very simple script that will download a Geotiff of the latest 250 meter resolution daily MODIS image. It's set up for my region, but you can easily modify it as you wish. As it is, when the prompt appears just substitute the Day of the Year for (DDD) and one of the three band combination choices for (BBB). It's a 30mb+ file so even with .3mb/sec it takes a few minutes to download. With these images you only get one per day from each of two satellites, and if it's cloudy you get clouds; but when it's clear you can get some magnificent scenes. Only the given band combinations are available, i.e. 123(true color), 367, and 721. You can access the other MODIS satellite by substituting "aqua" for "terra" in the URL. Exactly when today's image is available depends on when the satellites pass over your location. A free program called Home Planet will keep track of the Terra satellite for you, but for some reason it doesn't have the Aqua satellite. This script is set up for me in the northern Rockies with the "Missoula" sub-sector, but you can change that by going here [ http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/imagery/subsets/?area=na ] and finding your own area. Just navigate to the sub-sector image you want and substitute accordingly in the URL. You also need to adjust projection in the script to be appropriate for the image sub-sector you choose.
