Feature extraction using Global Mapper

Hi,

I was wondering if Global Mapper has the potential to use its own scripts for feature extraction (e.g. buildings) purposes? I don't mind implementing feature extraction algorithms, but do you think global mapper is a suitable base for this?

    I forgot to mention that I'm using LiDAR data
