DTM calculations

Just wondering if there is any way to artificially add barriers to DTM's in global mapper. I'm thinking about being able to add height to a particular bit of a DTM for the purpose of building bunds to divert water flow. It would be useful to change the DTM to develop 'what if' scenarios so you could try creating stream flows for various scenarios.

Yes, what you can do is create an area feature with the Digitizer Tool and assign an ELEVATION attribute with the desired height (say '10 m' for example), then select that area, right-click, then select the Advanced Feature Creation submenu option to create/flatten terrain. Choose that the heights are relative to ground. This will create a new terrain surface in the area that is 10m about the ground surface.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
