Cutting area from another area

After creating roughness grid from CLC land cover data, I need to remove overlapping areas from the map. To do so, I want to cut islands from their parent area before creating buffer areas but selecting "cut selected area from another area" moves new area somewhere else, which is quite weird. You can find below my workspace.

    What version of Global Mapper are you using?

    Also there seems to have been an error when attaching your file, the end of the workspace has HTML text about a globalmapperforum.com database error, so the workspace is truncated. I would recommend zipping it up and attaching it again.
