Shapefile from GeoTiff with transparency

I have a large number of GeoTiffs that represent an area with a boundary that is not rectangular. As a result there are void pixels in the GeoTiff. I can get global mapper to make those areas transparent so I can not see them. I want to know if there is any way to generate a shapefile outline for the area I can see.

Thanks

Yes, if you have Global Mapper 13 just right-click on the layer in the Control Center and select to create equal-value areas, then specify a color fuzziness value of 255 which should just give you an area that covers the entire data set, with holes for the void/no-data areas.

    Thanks,

Unfortunately I only have 12...I do not have 13. Is it at all possible in 12?

I believe you can do it in v12.02, although there are some limitations that v13 eliminates, so it might not work as well in v12.

Thanks for your help...I upgraded my 12.0 to 12.2 and the test showed that I will be able to do what I want to do.

    Thanks again.
