Import .clr into tiff file

Dear all,

I'm finding problems lately with .tiff files opening in a black and white scale in Global Mapper.
I open them in ArcGis, build a value-based scale and export the characteristics to a .clr file; then I try to import the .clr in the palette display and it doesn't work, it imports funny colors and the appearence is completely different.

Could anyone help me out here please?
