Hi.

I've got an 'Arc/Info ASCII Grid' file with '.grd' extension which starts:
ncols 723
nrows 683
xllcorner 5.312500000000
yllcorner 49.799107000000
dx 0.000833580913
dy 0.000833377745
NODATA_value -32768
 291 292 294 295 295 296 295 ...

Using GlobalMapper v11.02 on MS Windows XP, I'm trying to open the file. I get a window to "Select Overlay Type" and I select "Arc/Info ASCII Grid". But I get the error message:
Unable to load header information

What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much

(The GRD file is attached within the 'TEST.zip' file)

Change the 'dx' to XDIM and the 'dy' to YDIM and then it should load. I'll also update GM v13 to support 'dx' and 'dy', although I've never seen that used before.

    Thanks,

Thank you very much. It works :-)

I downloaded it from 'USGS Global Data Explorer' website:
    http://demex.cr.usgs.gov/DEMEX/

It's the "SRT 90m" format. Actually it's an ".asc" extension, but I changed it.

    Regards.

If you are going to be doing a lot of these I can make a new v11 build to read them directly. I've already done this for v13. Not sure why they would use a non-standard Arc ASCII Grid header format, but at least it's easy to support.

    Thanks,
