ESRI GDB Errors

Hi Mike,

I'm getting error messages with some, but not all of my ESRI File GDBs when I try to open them in GM13:

Unable to load overlay gdb
Error opening table \troad.
Invalid function arguments.
ESRIFileGDBOverlay.cpp - 1015
Version: v13.00
Build Time: Oct 4 2011 17:26:20

Adam,

More than likely it is one of the many FGDB types that the ESRI library doesn't support yet, but just to be sure can you try installing the latest GM build from the links below and see if that makes any difference?

I'm using ArcINFO SP3 if that helps. These FGDBs we created but importing SHP files into the FGDB, so I assume there is no wacky geometry in them, but who knows.

Adam,

They likely use a custom projection or something. The ESRI FGDB import library is currently limited to only very vanilla data sets and won't read anything with a custom projection or raster data or anything like that, as well as anything not created with ArcGIS 10 or later.

Mike,

That makes sense, all the FGDB I was having trouble accessing were in the BC Albers projection. That's too bad the projection selection is so limited.
