"World Imagery" - can I use it?

Hi Global Mapper community,
I have noticed that there is an option to download "World Imagery" from within Global Mapper v12. This works great and provides some good imagery of Great Britain, the USA and many metro/city areas around the world. My question is, where is this data sourced from?
The reason I ask is because I need to determine whether or not I can use this data in my commercial and non-commercial work. So far I have not been able to determine where the data comes from and what the license restrictions may (or may not) be.
Any help is much appreciated.

i have the same question, i discovered this option few months ago ans i really appreciated it. With your link, i see where thoses data come from, but i still wonder if it s possible to use them after having downloaded it.
For OSM data, i looked at the OSM license, it's rather simple. But for imagery data, we have to ask to each contributors?
Do you think it is possible to download some data and use them for free for demonstration for example?

See http://www.esri.com/legal/pdfs/e-800-termsofuse.pdf for the Terms of Usage of that data source.

This link is broken - and the previous link seems to think that you can't use Global Mapper to view or download world imagery at all? ... It would be great if we could have a clear answer as to if we're allowed to use and/or download the world imagery for offline use (on a GPS for example) etc... as the website is very vague... Thanks! -
The latest link is http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=10df2279f9684e4a9f6a7f08febac2a9. I think similar to linking to Google Maps or Bing Maps you should treat the source as for reference only, or at least not for publishing, although for those areas of coverage from an open provider you would likely be ok. I would be hard to determine where it is ok and where it is not though. Of course sources like the NAIP imagery source from the USGS are free to do whatever you want with.
Thanks,
Mike

The sources are still available but the address search broke earlier this week. We have a new build that uses a new source for address search. I have placed a new build at http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/downloads/global-mapper/global_mapper14.zip with the latest changes for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v14.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v14 version there is a new build at http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/downloads/global-mapper/global_mapper14_64bit.zip .
We are also finishing up an update to the online sources that will provide easy access to a Metadata/Terms of Service URL for each built-in source, so you will be able to get this information very easily.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the responses posted above that were helpful to my similar questions. From what I found this was not reusable for free. The are of interest for me was covered by DigitalGlobe. I contacted MapMart to purchase the area of interest and they were very helpful, but DigitalGlobe delayed the order beyond the useful period. I asked if there was any way I could pay the fee and extract the image myself, but MapMart was unable to do this, and advised I follow-up with Global Mapper again since they are no longer a reseller. Do you know if there is a way to pay the fee and extract mysef? I need it today, or anything else that is similar resolution (0.3m).

We don't directly resell the DigitalGlobe imagery anymore either, but if you purchase access to their cloud services from Purchase DigitalGlobe Products - Satellite Imagery, Aerial Photos, Geospatial Analysis you should be able to use that in Global Mapper, or you can perhaps get a particular area extracted from one of their partners.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the quick response. I went to the link, called the number to "Work Directly with Digital Globe", and got yet another reseller. They seemed to interpret that I could use this as long as I had paid the agreement and not yet received.
