[WMS] etat.geneve.ch - Orthophotos display is incorrect

hello,

when i open Orthophotos from

http://etat.geneve.ch/ags2/services/Orthophotos_2009/MapServer/WMSServer?layers=0

with the latest versions of Global Mapper 11 and 12, something is wrong with the display :

GlobalMapper_WMS-etat.geneve.ch.jpg

when i open the same layer from a sample html page with OpenLayers, it works fine.


i noticed that Global Mapper display these layers from the same server with no problems

http://etat.geneve.ch/ags2/services/Plan_Officiel/MapServer/WMSServer?layers=0,1,2

Try deleting the cache for the layer on the File->Download Online Imagery/Data menu command and see if that fixes the issue. You would delete the WMS cache.

i deleted the WMS cache, but no change has occured.

does this WMS server works on your installation of Global Mapper ?

It looks like the server doesn't properly serve up tiles in EPSG:4326 which Global Mapper is selecting by default. If I set the service name to 'WMS&SRS=EPSG:2056' when I setup the source to force it to use the alternative projection of EPSG:2056 then the imagery comes in find with that source.

The SRS was the right trick, all layers from etat.geneve.ch are now overlayed properly.
