Error Loading OSM data (.osm big file)

I can't load the downloaded .osm file from cloudmade using GM12.
Please check.

How large is the .osm file that you are trying to load? Are you getting an error message? It could be too large to fit into memory.

Which v12 release are you using? Can you try getting the latest v12.02 release from the links below and see if that helps? There were some reductions in memory requirements for loading OSM files during the v12 release cycle.

We're using V12.02

Does the error immediately pop up or does it run for a while before you get it? Are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version?

... using 32bit, we don't have 64bit PC. It runs for a while, around 3 mins. up

What is your memory usage at when it fails? Can you FTP the file to ftp.globalmapper.com using a username of 'upload' and a password of 'upload' and I can try it to see if I can load the file or if there is a problem other than memory?

Good news, I was able to reproduce the issue with the large amounts of memory being used and get it fixed so you should be able to load your file now. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v12.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v12 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12_64bit.zip .
