Global Mapper "freezes up" sometimes when downloading Online Imagery

I experience that when downloading online imagery sometimes depending on the data sources, GM "freezes up" and I have to use Windows task manager to stop the program. Some data sources seem to work well but others can cause the program to stop and then there is the small message on the top bar that the program is not responding. Is there any way of aborting the download from within Global Mapper when I see that that things are not happening? Thanks.

Mark

    Mark,

You can typically hit the Escape key to abort an online download from a source that is not serving up data for some reason.

What version of Global Mapper are you using? There was also a recent issue with lockups downloading from some online terrain sources. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12.zip with this fixed for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v12.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v12 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
