Edit Attribute Dialog

When I use the edit tool and select multiple items, Cntl-Click, then R-C to open the Edit dialog, the Feature Name has a check box to allow data entry. None of the other fields in the edit dialog have check boxes. Is this check box really needed?

This sequence is a major part of my object edit sessions and clicking that box a few hundred times a day gets old.

    Yes because otherwise if you have multiple initial features with different names you of course can only have one of the names in the label field and it wouldn't be clear whether you want to set each feature to the single name in the field or just keep them all as their original values. The checkbox allows you to specify that you definitely want to change the label to the value in the box.
