Feature request: Lassoo select

Using v12.0, I would like more flexibility when selecting point features. The default selection routine is by using a rectangle, but I would really appreciate a more "freehand" way of selecting things. I know there's the ability to create arbitrary area features, so that methodology seems straightforward enough to transfer to selection as well.
...or perhaps I have not studied the manual well enough.
Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Thank you.

You can do this now, you would just need to create an area feature first to describe your point selection polygon. Then with that area selected in the Digitizer Tool, right-click and select the Advanced Selection submenu option to select all points within the selected area.
