onearth.jpl.nasa.gov wms down forever?

Since 2011 -> http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/
This server no longer provides full WMS services for any of the datasets. Furthermore, the MODIS daily mosaics are no longer being updated. The tiled WMS access, described in the Tiled WMS and Google Earth KML support will stay operational. This includes access to the archived of MODIS daily mosaics, which were built from 2006 to the end of 2010.

Is there a way to use the Tield WMS or the Google Earth KML support?

    There is not currently any way to access generic Tiled WMS from Global Mapper, although Global Mapper does access that server for the SRTM, NED 1 arc second, and Landsat 7 sources using tiled WMS access. The parameters for tiling are just built-into Global Mapper as setting them up in a generic manner is not yet supported.

    Currently there is built-in support for two of the global mosaic (Landsat7) layers, the Natural Color and Pseudo-Color layers. Do you also have need for the Visual Color global mosaic? If so I can potentially add that. Currently tiled WMS layers have to be added by hand in Global Mapper and can't be added by users.

    our GM is the version v9.03. It seems, our version used the standard WMS. http://imageupload.org/?di=012954270341

    Do we need the current version from Global Mapper?

    Support for other Layers would be cool:
    1. Global Mosaic Base - Visual (nice look)
    2. Global Mosaic - Ir1 (for water selection)

    Oli,

    The older versions of Global Mapper would use the non-tile based access for those sources that the server no longer offers anymore, so you would likely need to upgrade to access those now tile-only WMS sources.
