Hi there,

I have an issue where when exporting a TIFF file to Google Maps Tiles, the output PNG quality is degraded. I have attached two images to exemplify the issue. Any idea why this happens?

Which zoom level did you choose to export at and what sampling method are you using for the input data? Also, what version and build date of Global Mapper are you using? There were some problems in early v12.00 builds that caused data to be incorrectly down-sampled that have now been fixed, so getting a new build might fix this. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12.zip with the latest changes for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v12.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v12 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I am actually creating tiles up to zoom level 21. I am using Global Mapper 9.03. I'm not sure where to specify the sampling method. Am I able to do this in 9.0.3?

    Thanks,

    Mark

The sampling method would be the "anti-alias pixels" option on the Options dialog for the layer in the Control Center.

It's hard to say what might be happening in v9.03, what does a scale bar look like on top of the data to see what the resolution of the source data is?

    Thanks,

    Mike
