Hello.
We are trying to open with GM 12 an S57 file with some attributes that use lexical level 2 text. The text cannot be visualized correctly and it cannot be exported correctly in other vector formats.
Is there any way to have these text visualized correctly?
I'm attaching a demo S57 file to better show the issue.
Thanks and Regards,
Massimo

    Massimo,

Can you explain exactly what 'lexical level 2 text' means? I'm not familiar with that term.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hello.
As specified in chapter 2.4 of the IHO ducument (http://www.iho-ohi.net/iho_pubs/standard/S-57Ed3.1/31Main.pdf):
"Level 2: Universal Character Set repertoire UCS-2 implementation level 1 (no combining characters), Base Multilingual
plane of ISO/IEC 10646 (i.e. including Latin alphabet, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese etc.)".

    Massimo,

Ah basically it just means Unicode text (leave it to government documents to obfuscate things unnecessarily rather than just using the commonly used term). Global Mapper doesn't currently support Unicode text display.

    Thanks,

    Mike
