Combine selected features.

It seems that in difficult cases the "Create New Area Feature from Selected Lines" does not copy the height values of the points, even though it manages to merge the lines to an area. I have sent an e-mail with an example file for you to try. It includes a polygon that shows one of the problem-lines, but also other lines in this file does not have any height after "Create New Area Feature From Selected Lines".

I took a look and was able to find the issue. Basically while most of the lines were true 3D lines, some only had an ELEVATION attribute and no per-vertex elevations, so the result didn't have per-vertex elevations. I have updated this to allow joining attribute-based elevations with per-vertex elevations and now it works as expected. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v12.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit v12 version there is a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper12_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
