MapQuest tileset

Anybody here know how to export raster data to a MapQuest tileset? I've got the specs but I'm not really sure on how to proceed. It appears to be using an obscure coordinate system / datum and I can't really make sense of it.

    Hans,

While I'm not familiar with exactly what MapQuest uses, most online map sources (like Google Maps and Bing Maps), use a Mercator projection (all default parameters) and the special Google Maps datum.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    The documentation literally says:
The type of projection used for the custom tile layers is the Lambert Equirectangular projection with a standard parallel of 37.5 degrees and a spherical earth (km= 6378.160187 & mi=3963.205). The closest known Datum that lines things up on our actual output is Australia 1984.

I have to admit that that last line doesn't really seem to bode well...

    Hans,

Try setting up the projection as described, but use the Google Maps datum. It is a special case of a sphere with that radius.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
