David,
No, it is not possible to directly bring Google Earth or Google Maps data into Global Mapper (doing so would violate the Google terms of service and incur the wrath of the Google legal department). There are numerous built-in sources on the File->Download Online Imagery dialog that have similar data, including the SRTM source for worldwide elevation data, the OpenStreetMaps source for worldwide street maps, and the premium DigitalGlobe source for worldwide high-resolution imagery.
If you really need Google data, the 3rd-party GoogleOzi application (http://www.zubak.sk/GoogleOzi/) allows you to pull data from the Google servers and save it to an image file that you can then load into Global Mapper.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,
I am working with GoogleOzi and I must say, it's really a fine third party tool for loading Google Earth and Google Maps tiles into Global Mapper. But I have
found one problem: If I load a georeferenced jpg or tif (built by GoogleOzi) into GM, north is not at the top! But this happens only, if I use the worldfiles
tfw/jgw/prj. If I use the Ozi-map file (GoogleOzi can this create, too), the picture is ok. Marian Zubak told me, that there would be a bug in GM. As GM accept the map file, it's not really a problem, but perhaps you can fix it nevertheless. I am working with GM 11.02, 64 bit.

Robert,
Is the image properly positioned or is completely flipped? If it is just skewed a bit, this sounds like an issue of what projection the data is loaded into Global Mapper with as many projected systems don't have true north straight up. If it is completely flipped then I would guess that the world files being created by GoogleOzi are not correct.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
the image is "approximately" properly positioned. But the image is not only upside down, it's also a mirror-image! The content of the jgw file is the following (City of Berlin, Germany):
0.000172
0
0
0.000104
13.315430
52.562995
And the prj file:
Projection GEOGRAPHIC
Datum WGS84
Zunits NO
Units DD
Xshift 0.000000
Yshift 0.000000
Parameters
The result is as described above.
If I use the Ozi map file, which is also built by GoogleOzi, picture is o.k.
Content of the map file (sorry, it's very long):

Robert,
Typically the 4th parameter of a world file is negative as Y pixel coordinates grow in the opposite direction of ground coordinates. If you put a negative sign in the world file in front of the 4th line does it then load in properly?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the reply will give the GoogleOz ago and sound like it would do the little job I have.

Hello Mike,
thank you, the solution is the missing minus.
Great support!

Seems that Farmworks overcomes Google earth issues by making you reload Google Earth Maps Manually each time you view your project.

I want to make a map and print that for a specific area in high resolution from google earth. But my problem is that I can't joined the snaps properly in Photoshop for getting the wright map for a specific area. Is there any software for taking the snap shorts from google earth and joined them all to generate the right map for that area in high resoulution.

You can use GoogleOzi (http://www.zubak.sk/GoogleOzi/) to pull down Google Maps data in a geo-referenced format that applications like Global Mapper can use.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike
