Select area shapes based on attribute

I have several thousand area shapes and would like to obtain only the ones having a geographic area smaller than a value I choose. The area shapes have attributes, but none related to geographic area. Any ideas?

I realize I can inspect the geographic area of each shape by using the Feature Info Tool and noting "Area" field in the Geometry line. Is there perhaps a way to add an attribute to each shape and populate the attribute's value from the shape's area automatically?

Yes, you can easily do this by selecting all of the areas with the Digitizer Tool, then right-clicking and selecting the option to add/update feature measurement attributes. Once those are there you can simply search on the ENCLOSED_AREA attribute value.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
