Point type or symbol with transparent center?

Hi Guys,

I could really use some point types with transparent centers. I do lots of work with bathymetry and it's neat to be able to mark a shipwreck or other interesting feature with a circle, triangle, box, etc that has a transparent center and still be able see the feature.

Ideally, I would like to be able to change the color and scale of the point marker as well.

If there's already a way to do something like this, please let me know.

Thanks,
Ross-O

    Ross-O,

You can add your own custom point symbols on the Point Styles tab of the Configuration dialog. Use a format like PNG for the symbols and mark the desired areas transparent when creating the PNG. The transparency will be maintained in Global Mapper. You can also use .ico files for transparency if that is easier.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
