Improve error handling

When opening many files I sometimes get an error when one of the overview-layers in one TIF-file is broken and the software crashes giving the following error:
Unknown error while rendering overlays, you sould probably save and quit.
Error reading TIFF tile.
TiffOverlay.cpp - 2571
Builde Time: Dec 10 2009 10:29:57

Can this be improved to the following?:
Unknown error while rendering overlays, you sould probably save and quit.
Error reading TIFF tile for file: C:\myfiles\file_number_421.tif - please check this file
TiffOverlay.cpp - 2571
Builde Time: Dec 10 2009 10:29:57

For easier bugfixing you might also add a button on "all" error messages which says: "Copy error message to clipboard" to paste it easily into this forum.

I have updated the handling of TIFF render errors like the one you posted to include the filename of the TIFF with the error. I also updated the drawing of overview layers so if an overview draw fails that the draw is then attempted from the base layer, so errors in overview layers will not cause the draw to fail.

Finally, I updated the error display to automatically copy the message to the clipboard.

I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v11.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit version, there is a new build available at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
