Regarding your tweet (at http://twitter.com/global_mapper):
Updated sub-sampled ECW and JPEG2000 exports and rectifications to use much faster access

Can you provide some more details regarding this?

    Sure, I updated export from ECW and JPEG2000 format files at a resolution significantly less than the base resolution of the image to use the lower resolution (pyramid) layers from the ECW file rather than always pulling from the most detailed layer. This can cause a significant speed-up when sub-sampling or when zoomed out and rectifying an ECW or JPEG2000 format file. Normal draws already used this before, it was just an extension to exports and other places where direct access was used.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    we use now geotiff's and export them to ECW (gm10)

    the problem that the program we use to work with the ecw is falling over the header.

    The only difference is the projection name : See bold names.

    $ ecwhed 28D.ecw
    Datum = RD
    Projection = EPSG:28992
    Origin = (230000.000000, 487500.000000)
    Pixel Size = (2.500000, -2.500000)
    Corner Coordinates:
    .......

    $ ecwhed 28d-25d-2009.ecw
    Datum = RD
    Projection = DUTCHNEW
    Origin = (230000.000000, 487500.000000)
    Pixel Size = (2.500000, -2.500000)
    Corner Coordinates:
    ........

    ( see this site for more info over the projections)

    Could it be possible to enter this name manualy . Or change it some how?

    Guido,

    I have updated the ECW export to use DUTCHNEW for the Dutch Grid projection. I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmappersoftware.com/global_mapper10.zip with the change for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v10.xx installation folder to give it a try.

    Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
