USGS GeoPDF collar cropping

Mike,
I'm working on a little project in Maine, and the USGS has the newer Dig Map -beta files available there.

I added these files to GM 11 (32-bit) and they seem to line up right, and are imported with NAD83 (map says both NAD83 and WGS84 on the lower left). Now when I select the automatically crop collars option, the collars seem to be cropped in the wrong place.

Is there something I'm missing?

Anyways, links to the files I'm looking at are here

If the links don't work, I can upload them.

I took a look and it looks like the crop polygons specified in the PDF files themselves are not at the correct location. They seem to be outside of the actual data boundaries rather than going right along the map collars like they should. Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done in Global Mapper about this as the PDF files themselves really need fixed.

What you will need to do is use the 'Snap to Manually Specified Degree Boundary' option on the Cropping tab and snap each edge to a 0.125 degree (7.5 minute) boundary. These worked perfectly for the example that I tested.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Yeah, that worked well. Also, I tried exporting to geotiff and the automatic cropping worked perfectly on the resulting files.

I guess if you have a lot of GeoPDF's that are wrong, the geotiff might be the best way as you can do that with many of them rather than one at a time.
