Arabic Attribute values?

Good day,

I was wondering if it is possible to have attribute names or values in Arabic, I have tried it a number of times and could not get it to show/work.

I'm currently running V10, even when i import a shp file with Arabic values it comes out all gibberish. I'm currently working on a project that requires some Arabic values.

Do you know what text encoding the Arabic text is in? Global Mapper does not currently have any support for displaying Unicode text, so if the Arabic text is in Unicode it wouldn't be possible to display in Global Mapper. However, if the Arabic text is just multi-byte text in the Arabic code page and your system is setup to use an Arabic character set then I would expect the text to display if you have the font for those features set to one with the Arabic characters.

Thank you for your response, unfortunately the Arabic text is in Unicode.

I was wondering, do you know if future versions might support Unicode text?

While we do eventually plan to add Unicode support, it is not in our short-term plans.
