Catalog File not seeing hydro attributes?

I have a catalog file of all my layers (contours, roads, Place names, and hydro). For some reason the catalog files when opened via zooming in, do not not pick up the attributes of the hydro shapefiles.
If I go back to my workspace which holds all the hydro shapefiles, all the attributes are correctly attached to the vectors.
Somehow using the catalog structure to save memory I'm lossing the hydro attributes, the line and areas are correctly places just the attributes are missing. Contours, roads and place names seemed to be correct.
Is their something obvious I'm not doing?
Thanks

What is the format of your hydro data? I would not expect any attribution to be lost assuming it was in the files that the hydro data was loaded from. You hadn't added the attribution yourself in your other workspace with the hydro data had you?
If you can provide me with one of the hydro data sets that has attribution when loaded normally but not from a map catalog, I can take a look.
Thanks,
Mike

I have a workspace where I would sequentially load shapefiles and modify their attributes. At the end of a session, I save the workspace.global_mapper wrote: »What is the format of your hydro data? I now have over one-hundred shapefiles in the workspace. I created a catalog from that workspace. That catalog was loaded with other catalogs into a master workspace for final MP gridding.

Roger,
When you modify attributes to loaded data this does not affect the original files. The modifications are stored in the workspace file. So if you created a map catalog off of the files, the map catalog would know only about what is in the files, it would know nothing of any in-memory modifications to your workspace. You would first need to export your modifications to new files, then add those files to the catalog to get the updates.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike
