Bug: rename of User Created Features.. not persistent

I have a relatively large dataset (24 satellite images) as well as a couple of kml files showing potential highway alignments on which I have been tracing airphoto interpretation (using the new Trace mode - thanks again!). The trace work had been going to the default layer of User Created and Modified Features. Yesterday, I started cleaning up my tracing to make a final product and moving some items to different layers (such as a separate layer for geological units). As part of the cleanup, I renamed the User Created and Modified Features layer to "Raw Tracing". I noticed as I continued to work that my name change wasn't showing up in the Modified Feature Info dialog box but didn't fret about. This morning, when I opened the file, the name change was correctly showing up when modifying a feature but I know had two layers called "Raw Tracing"...

I took a look and discovered that the feature creation/edit dialogs would always display 'User Created and Modified Features' even if you had renamed the layer. However when you saved a workspace and re-opened it any features would then be in the new named layer (like 'Raw Tracing'), so that part was ok. Note that when you do that you now have an independent layer named 'Raw Tracing' and a new 'User Created' layer if you add features without changing the name.

I have placed a new build at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11.zip which should display the correct name for the user-created layer on the edit dialogs for you to try. Simply download that file and extract the contents into your existing v11.xx installation folder to give it a try. If you are using the 64-bit version, there is a new build available at http://www.globalmapper.com/global_mapper11_64bit.zip .

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I downloaded the new version but now it won't open DGN files. I reverted back to the Sept 10 version and it opened the same file without any problems. Can you check into that issue?

That's strange, the DGN files that I've tested work fine. I did update the DGN import library in recent builds, so perhaps it has some problems loading certain DGN files. Can you send the file you are having problems with to support@globalmapper.com so that I can take a look?

    Thanks,
