Rotated projections

Is there a way I can use global mapper to draw rotated maps? For example, I would like to draw a UTM-projected map rotated so that the route of a trail is up instead of (grid) north being up.

The solution I have now is to draw a bigger map, rotate the bitmap, and crop out the part that I want. This produces less-than-ideal results, especially for grid lines and labels.

Should I:

a) Not worry about it.
b) Draw the map this way, but without gridlines, and then implement something else to draw the grid lines and basic labels?
c) Use different search terms to find the right way to solve this problem using global mapper? ;)

Thanks in advance.

Currently there is not a way to rotate a map in a particular projection. Only grid up is supported. What you can do is change your projection to a Hotine Oblique Mercator projection with the appropriate angle and the center set to somewhere in your mapping data to basically cause the rotation that you need.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

[I'm a big fan of using HOM for this purpose. I love it.]
