hi

i report a bug that happens when i want to open the rference library of a vmap1 file. this folder is present in each vmap1 dataset and contains big cities and country limits

when you click on lht file, you can display "place names" and "political entities"
the problem is that many cities are not at the right place (see lisbon, casablanca, naples.. : in the water!)

thanks if you can have a look to this problem. i don t think it s due to the dataset beacause i have this pb with every rference folder (i have many vmap1 cd)

I took a look at the reference section on a VMAP1 tile and found the same issue that you were seeing (i.e. some cities in wrong places). I debugged in and found that the VMAP1 tiles themselves simply have bad locations for some cities. For example, the Lisbon text label is listed as being displayed along a line between the following coordinates:

    Idx,Longitude,Latitude
    1,-11.9261245728,38.9026565552
    2,-10.3608684540,38.9026565552

I think perhaps in the reference layer the text is placed so that at a particular zoom level the displayed text will line up in a particular place, but the labels are not spatially accurate with regards to what they are referring to.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike
