Combining contiguous polygons

I need to combine 2 or more polygons into one area feature. The polygons are generally contiguous but some may have small gaps between their adjacent vertices. The polygons that need to be combined have a field that is unique, i.e for three polygons that need to be combined they each individually have one field that is equivalent. Thanks for any help that may be offered!

Global Mapper does not currently have any support for automatically combining adjacent area features, but this is something that we are planning to add in a future release (likely the v11 release this summer).

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Thanks - Always look forward to more features! In the meantime I'll convert the areas to lines, break the lines at the join point, and then convert the resultant lines into a single area feature. Is there a smarter way to do this? Thanks

That is the smart way to do it for now.

    Thanks,
