Roughness data in the shapefile?

I have a shape file with 387 elevation contour line and 0 roughness lines. However, I need the roughness data for this map so I can do wind calculations. What can I do to get roughness lines on this shape file?

    I converted my *.shape to *.map. however, there is no roughness line in the property of *.map!!!

    Global Mapper does not have any support for automatically calculating roughness values. You would need to already have the roughness stored as attributes of your data in order to be able to export it.
