convert shp to TIN?

hi I ask againn hehe...
I have a Shp file, and I want to make it to DEM/ASCII file,, but before that want to convert it to TIN (it's Necessary or not?) How to convert that?

    If your Shapefile has elevation data, you can simply right-click on it in the Control Center and select to generate an elevation grid (and a TIN if you want). You can then export that grid to a DEM.
