I'm looking at the DigitalGlobe imagery download options for Toluca de Lerdo, MEX. The data access options only lists data vintage 2002. Digital Globe lists imagery available from 2009.

I have a Premium Content account, but I'm utilizing the free access in order to determine area of interest prior to download.

Is the 2009 data accessible through Global Mapper?

Is the 2009 data only accessible after entering the PC content code?

TIA!

The DigitalGlobe data accessible via Global Mapper is the same for both the free watermarked access and the premium access. Unfortunately DigitalGlobe is being very slow about getting all of their data hosted on the servers that Global Mapper has access to, so there's no telling when the 2009 data will be available. According to them their priority is the US and Western Europe on that server, so newer Mexico data may take a while to get hosted.

You would probably need to obtain the imagery directly from DigitalGlobe | An Imagery and Information Company to get it anytime soon.

    Thanks,

    Thanks!

I was probably too specific with my question. Not only am I wondering why the 2009 data is not available, but I'm also curious as to why none of other images from years 2004 to 2008 are available.

GE shows 2008 images for for that area.

Is there any way to get Digital Globe to update their Global Mapper accessible server?

I can bug DigitalGlobe about updating a particular area, but they honestly haven't been real responsive in the past when I've done this (guess I'm not a big enough customer).

The reason they are so behind is that the servers that Global Mapper uses were originally owned by a company named GlobeXplorer, which DigitalGlobe purchased a couple of years ago. At that point DG starting adding their data to the servers are well, but as you can imagine they have a huge amount of data and it is taking them a long time to get it all hosted, partially because they have to keep upgrading the servers as they add huge quantities of new data. In many parts of the world they haven't got anything up there except for base 15m Landsat imagery. They don't release any kind of schedule of when new data is being uploaded, so I have no visibility into what is being added and when it is added.

    Thanks,

    Mike
