Apply attribute data from an area to a point

Hello,

I have several hundred points and a grid of areas (in this case representing NTS map sheets). I would like to be able to include the appropriate NTS map sheet name as an attribute for every point without doing it one at a time.

Is there a way to copy attributes from an area to a point that lies within that area?

    There is not currently any way to directly do that. You can create new point features from the centroids of selected areas with the attributes of that area, but there is not yet a way to copy attributes to point features from areas features that they are enclosed in.
