Is GM a good basic mosaic tool?

Hi Folks,

We do a lot of small vertical aerial photo work where we mosaic together the photos in either Photoshop or Auto Pano Pro. While both software programs work OK for this there is a lot of manual time consuming adjustments with each and we are looking for something that will help speed up the process.

Most of our jobs are in the 10 photo range captured with a Mamiya 645 w/ digital back.

Thanks,

John

    John,

I may be a bit biased, but I think Global Mapper is a great tool for this as it allows for easy graphical georeferencing of images and allows using already georeferenced images when selecting control points for new images, making stitching a simple process. Color adjustment tools are also available through the Options dialog for each layer (accessible from the Control Center).

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Thanks Mike.

Is there a tutorial that can show us how to do this?

There is a video tutorial on rectification at Tutorial 8 - Georectifying Imagery 101 - Global Mapper Forum and Tutorials.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,
