Export .ecw file

Hi

I have loaded 53MB of S57 maps (.000) (Danish navel maps)
And i want to export to one .ecw file. But i am limited to approximately 15 MB.
When i try to export a file that will be more then 15 MB i get the error:

The size of the image that you selected to create was too large to export vector data and/or scale/legend/grid data to. To decrease the size of the image, either increase the Sample Spacing or decrease the Export Bounds.

I want the ECW file in the same resolution as the S57 maps.

    Morten,

What version of Global Mapper are you using? Global Mapper v9.00 and later do not have any size limits on ECW export size.

    Thanks,

    Hi

    Update:

I still get the error when I only use one S57 file.
I can make a ECW file when I use a sample spacing at 13 meter, but i get the error when i use sample spacing at 12 or lower?

    Morten,

Ah, I did not read your original message well enough. You are running into a limit on how large of a raster file that you can create directly from vector data due to Windows in-memory bitmap limitations. What you should do is load all of your data, then do the export but go to the Gridding tab and specify that you want to break the export into pieces of say 4096x4096 in size. Then when that export completes, load all of those pieces (not in a raster format) into Global Mapper and export them to a single new raster file.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike

    It works!

It took about 4 hours but the result was OK.

    Thanks
