GM Default Start-up directory?

It seems that whenever I start GM and select "Open you own data files", GM wants to take me to that last directory I was working in during the previous GM session. As a result, whenever that file system is not available, GM hangs and must be terminated.

How can I reset the default directory so that I may once again start GM and open files?

Thanks,
Tim

    Tim,

This is actually a Windows problem. If you try to open a standard Windows File Open dialog to a folder that no longer exists, Windows sits for a while trying to find that location. It should eventually come back though.

If you want to reset this manually, run 'regedit', then delete the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GlobalMapper\InitialDir' key.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Mike,

    Thanks for the assist.
btw, in my specific case, I was forced to change the value of the key to a different directory. It seems that deleteing the value or deleting the key was ineffective. Evertything is working fine with GM once again.
