Reproject UTM Zone18 NAD83 to WGS84
Annett
Global Mapper User
I am trying to convert DOQ of Norfolk (VA) from MrSid to GeoTIFF. MrSid data are in UTM Zone18 NAD83. When opening the MrSid data in GM9.03message "Coordinate out of range" appears in the lower right corner of the screen. The image is displayed correctly.
Batch Convert/Reproject... fails with error message "There were unexpected errors converting x files to be converted. The problems were with the following files:"
Can anyone help me solving this problem? Thanks.

Annett,
It sounds like the projection is incorrectly encoded in the MrSID file. You can correct the projection interpretation after loading the file by opening the Control Center, selecting the layer, press Options, then go to the Projection tab and correct the projection.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
thanks for your prompt reply.
The MrSID files do not contain any projection information. Therefore I assumed that it is UTM Zone18 NAD83. Now I know that the projection is State Plane Coordinate System Zone Virginia South. The conversion to WGS84 is finifhed successfully with these parameters.
Thanks for your kind support.
