Hi,

Just wondering what the restrictions are on 3D view saving above screen resolution.

I am trying to create a view for a brochure so want a high quality image. When i increase the resolution from the default (current screen px) setting i get a notification that my computer doesn't support it.

I do always opt for equal pct increase in height and width

Any tips - is it graphics card thing?

Thanks

Andy

    Andy,

The ability to save out a 3D view at a different resolution than what is displayed in the 3D view window is based on whether or not your graphics card supports this functionality. We've found that most graphics cards do not yet support this, so our suggestion is to maximize your monitor resolution and maximize the 3D view window before saving to get the maximum resolution possible.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Is there something in particular i should look for in a graphics card spec to know whether the option is supported?

    Thanks

    Andy,

There is a particular OpenGL function (glFramebufferRenderbufferEXT) that is typically not implemented when this functionality is not available. I'm not sure of an easy way to tell whether a graphics card supports that or not though. None of the machines that we have here support it (the 3D viewer was developed by an outside contractor that did have video cards on which it worked).

    Thanks,

    Mike
